Skills

How to browse, install, and build skills that extend what your assistant can do.

What skills do

Skills extend your assistant's capabilities. Out of the box, your assistant can manage your calendar, handle your contacts, run tasks, and have conversations. Skills add everything beyond that: reading your email inbox, coordinating scheduling across external participants, searching the web, connecting to third-party services, and more.

When a skill is installed, your assistant gains new tools and knows how to use them. The scheduling skill, for example, gives your assistant the ability to run multi-party availability coordination. A CRM skill would let it look up and update records. A knowledge skill might give it context about your company's internal processes.

Skill tiers

Every skill in the store has a tier that signals how it was vetted:

TierWhat it means
PlatformCore skills that power your assistant's fundamental capabilities — calendar, scheduling, email, memories, contacts. They're always installed and can't be removed.
OfficialSkills reviewed and published by the platform. Safe to install freely.
CommunitySkills built by third parties or other users. No vetting implied — review the skill's description and permissions before installing.

Browsing the store

Go to Skills → Store to browse available skills. You can filter by category (productivity, communications, CRM, etc.) and search by name.

Each skill's page shows:

  • What it does and what tools it adds to your assistant
  • What connections or credentials it requires
  • Whether it's Official or Community tier
  • How many times it's been installed

Some skills are opaque — you can see the name and description but not the full instructions. This is typical for commercial skills where the skill's behavior is proprietary.

Installing a skill

Click Install on any skill's store page. Installation is immediate.

If the skill requires a connection you haven't set up (say, a Salesforce connection), you'll see a notification in your inbox after installing, prompting you to complete the setup. The skill is installed but inactive until the required connection exists.

If your org admin has disabled marketplace installs, the Install button won't appear. You can still browse, but installing requires admin approval or central installation by your admin.

Creating your own skills

Under Skills → Create, you can build your own skills. What you can create depends on your role:

RoleCan create
End userKnowledge skills, workflow automations
Team admin+ Prompt skills
Org admin+ MCP-connected skills

Knowledge skills are the simplest — they give your assistant a block of text to reference: your company's meeting standards, a style guide, domain-specific context. Zero friction to create, and often high value.

Workflow skills let you define a reusable task template — a checklist your assistant follows every time, triggered manually or on a schedule.

Once created, a skill is private to you by default. You can share it with your team or, if your org allows it, submit it to the org marketplace for others to install.
